Whenever Emma and I stop by our local CVS or Walgreens, we know we’re in trouble. It’s never a quick 5 minute, “in & out” type of situation because we live for shopping their beauty sections. We find the drugstore one of the easiest stores to shop in simply because everything is right at your fingertips and extremely affordable. The hardest part of shopping for makeup in a drugstore or in any retailer for that matter.. is knowing which products are the best. Because so many drugstore items can be hit or miss, we have decided to include a roundup of select favorites, from makeup to skincare.
Do you ever shop for makeup and skincare items at the drugstore? If so, any specific “holygrail” products that you just can’t live without? Let us know in the comments!
1. Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
I have tried so many different cleansers from the drugstore & none of them compare to my favorite! It’s gentle on your face, works for different skin types (Emma and I have opposite skin types) and the price is hard to beat (only $6.99!). It acts as a great makeup remover as well which is so nice since it allows me to skip a step when I’m tired. Click here to shop the cleanser.
2. Ardell Natural Lashes
Emma and I were not blessed in the lash department. ;) Emma’s have never been long, and mine aren’t much better than hers. We are both trying a product called Lash Food as we speak, but until our lashes grow in – we love these lashes for everyday! These look full and beautiful on, and they are so inexpensive. We also love the adhesive for easy application. Click here to shop the lashes in a variety pack.
3. Colour Riche Shine Lipstick – L’Oreal
One lipstick that we both love is a new release by L’Oreal. They spout it as Turn on the Color, Switch on the Shine and they aren’t kidding. This lipstick is super rich and we love the different pops of color available. It’s not too heavy and it’s also moisturizing. At Ulta, you can buy 1 and get another at 50% off right now which is a great deal. Some of our favorite colors we love include: Burnished Blush, Dewy Petal, and Varnished Rosewood. Click here to shop the lipstick.
4. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
This is one of those products sold at the drugstore which makes me wonder… why is it only $14.99?! Not only is it a great bronzer which lasts all day, but it goes on smoothly & smells like a tropical island. It has 4.5 stars with over 1,000 reviews if you don’t want to take my word for it.. ;) Click here to shop the bronzer.
5. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Face Mask
We aren’t sponsored by Neutrogena, promise. But we do love a lot of their drugstore products because they are not only great in quality but their prices are hard to beat. They recently released new face masks & Emma has been loving how they make her skin look and feel! This Hydro Boost mask fits your face like a glove and your skin is left feeling so soft and smooth after 10-15 minutes of wearing it. Best part? It’s only $2.99! Click here to shop the mask.
6. NYX Butter Gloss
Emma & I both love NYX’s lip products and eye palettes. One of their great lip products include the butter gloss. It’s a mix between a gloss and a lip cream (that moisturizes) so it not only gives a splash of color but an amazing shine as well. And it comes in a million different colors. Some of the colors we love include: Vanilla Cream Pie, Creme Brulee, and Pink Buttercream. Click here to shop the butter gloss.
7. Almay Eye-Makeup Remover Pads
For years, Emma and I searched for an inexpensive makeup remover besides just the obvious cleanser. Especially because we love to wear a great mascara/eyeliner from time to time, it was hard to clean it all off without rubbing our eyes too hard/looking like a raccoon. We have both been using these eye-makeup remover pads for years now and cannot talk about them enough! Click here to shop the makeup remover pads.
8. L’oreal True Match Super Blendable Blush
Both of us LOVE Nars ‘Orgasm’ blush, but when we’re on a budget we head straight to the drugstore. There are a few different blushes we particularly like, but we really love this one. It goes on easily, has a little bit of a shimmer and there are a multitude of different colors for different skin tones. It blends really well and it’s easy to take off, which is key. It’s shape is also on the smaller side which makes it great to carry in your purse or travel. Click here to shop the blush.
9. NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick
Not only is this a great dupe of so many expensive lip creams/lip kits – it’s only $6.99. The price is so hard to beat, Emma has almost every color. They have great nude options along with several great pinks/browns for every skin tone. Some of Emma’s favorite colors include: Baby Doll, Silk Indulgent, and French Maid. Click here to shop the liquid lipstick.
10. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
This is the lipstick that I have been using for years and one that I have mentioned time and again in my stories on Instagram. I wear it as my everyday color, and it has never lead me astray. This lipstick is one that lasts quite awhile without over-drying and it comes in many different color options. Some of my favorites include: Blushing Mauve, Sassy Mauve (463 – my ultimate favorite), and Pink Pearl. Click here to shop the lipstick.
Lips swatched on my arm from left to right: NYX Butter Gloss, NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick, Revlon Lipstick in Sassy Mauve, and L’oreal Lipstick.

Any eyeliner suggestions. I never find one that doesn’t drift or smudge. Thanks ?
I usually stay within the Revlon colorstay family when it comes to eyeliner. I have the same issue otherwise. :) The liquid eyeliner is one I use quite a bit. Hugs!
