Christmas Home at Night

One of the main reasons why I decorate at Christmas is for the beautiful ambiance it provides for my family and friends during the evenings. I love to go a little overboard and add twinkle lights anywhere I can. You will find them on my trees, wrapped in my garland both outside and inside, on the stairs, the front porch, on the mantel.. and yes, even in potted plants on my dining table and inside bowls full of ornaments. No space is safe. ;)

This year, with the help of battery operated twinkle lights I was able to include lighted strands on every wreath in my home, all my little topiary trees and even on our headboards in the bedroom and the large mirror in my family room. Love the romantic feeling they provide.

Another thing I love to do to make my home feel more holiday festive is to add candles everywhere… on the tables, inside all mylanterns – both inside and out. I sprinkle candles on tables, my kitchen island and of course.. all the bathrooms. When you combine the lighting and candles along with my Christmas trees and other holiday decor, everything begins to feel magical.

This year we decided to include Christmas lights on the outside of our home. I love the way the lights accent the sloping roofline. So pretty… We also included garland around the door full of lights.. It’s amazing how much beauty they add!
