Whenever I look for fresh entertaining ideas I like to look at adding something to my table – hence the Vintage Inspired Dining Ideas. I’m a classic at heart and treasure mixing the designs and styles of the past with pieces that have a newer current twist. This past weekend I had a group of friends come over to help celebrate the end of summer and I found the most beautiful dinnerware set at an incredible price to use. The colors were playful and the perfect mix of summer and fall.. The best part of the entire new look is that it was affordable and simple to pull off.
Walmart has the cutest vintage home decor pieces right now and I fell in love with the dinnerware styles available. The retailer has really been impressing me with their current combo of trends: from vintage to modern to Scandinavian decor. Plus, their prices are affordable and attainable.. the best of both worlds!

Knowing that I needed 4 place settings for our get together I was thrilled to find the beautiful dinnerware set. The Timeless Floral and Retro Dot set that I purchased shares a combination of reds and yellows, blues and greens. All seasons represented.
With so much color on the dishes I felt the placemats needed to be left simple and natural in tone. The jute square placemats were the right solution and I love the texture and style combined. At $3 a piece I couldn’t pass them up. Isn’t that an amazing price? Click here to shop the placemats.
I also included a few colorful vintage looking napkins that are also included in the line. So fun to mix & match! I used 2 napkins from the Retro Dot Napkin set & 2 from theHyacinth Napkin set. Both sets are just under $5.
With all the new modern styles out there I love bringing vintage inspired dining ideas to the table. The classic look is a nod to the past and some things just never go out of style. What is your take on vintage decor? Do you love it as much as I do?
