It’s March and I’m so ready for the warmer weather of Spring to arrive! One of my favorite times of the year is when the cherry blossom trees begin to bloom and all my favorite colors show up in the garden…
March is the perfect time to shift from the cozy neutral winter tones to the more cheery colorful vibes in my home. I have currently been working on a spring bedroom refresh and I’m so excited to share it with you today. One thing that will always remain a design staple in my home is my white walls – they provide the perfect backdrop for me to add splashes of color with each season and provide that tranquil look that comforts me. This spring I have been drawn to the periwinkle blues, soft blush tones and little touches of greens and golds! When combined I think these colors provide the most beautiful cottage feel.
My guest bedroom refresh began with this GORGEOUS white & blush striped chair from my new favorite online store, Brooke & Lou. The second I saw it, I fell in LOVE! The Dorset chair is not only cozy and clean in design, but the centered tailored stripe and white wooden swivel legs gave it the grace and uniqueness I was craving. It’s the perfect accent piece that my guest bedroom desperately needed!
With Maggie thinking she’s the queen of the house, I was SO excited when I discovered that the Dorset Chair came with Life Friendly fabric. This fabric is designed with a Crypton fabric and it’s wipeable with a dry cloth to remove liquid stains. I love white fabric and having the security of knowing that this fabric is family friendly made this chair an easy choice! Bria’s white interiors mixed with beautiful splashes of color are so fresh, vibrant and fun! Emma and I always discuss how she’s our dream interior designer.
Draped on my chair is a new throw & pillow in my favorite periwinkle tone. Both of these items are also from Brooke & Lou. I love how the lavender/blue color pops against the blush & white chair. Next to my chair I added my favorite faceted brass stool. The stool looks like a jewel sitting next to my new chair. It’s the perfect piece.
Above the chair I hung 3 new pieces of art. You may remember the gallery wall that sits adjacent to this bedroom that Georgianna Lane created for me last year… I had a few leftover photos from that collection. All I needed were a few new frames which I found at Michael’s to pull this trio together. I LOVE how the new art compliments the look and style of my room and also mirrors the gallery wall just down the hallway.
For the bed refresh, I carried more of Brooke & Lou’s beautiful designs to the bedroom using two of their Betty Pillows in Crystal Pink. The guest bed always has a cozy feel, but I wanted to ‘spring’ up the space with the soft floral patterned pillows.
The blush euros and coverlet were such a steal! Not only were they on clearance, but they also matched my favorite new Brooke & Lou floral pillows and chair to a T. :)
To make my bed even more colorful, I added some new bedding in a preppy blue and white stripe design.. it reminds me of an oxford shirt I used to own in college back East. Click here for my new bedding.
Of course, I couldn’t leave out my favorite part – a fresh bouquet of spring florals! I created an arrangement full of blue hydrangeas, pink roses and white stock. I love the country garden cottage combination.

Love your spring, guest room redo . The colors are so calming !! The Dorset chair looks very comfortable but those swiveled legs are so delicate . The legs draw my eyes down immediately . I am going to look at the linens too .

I would recommend heading to your local big box grocer for inexpensive floral budget (preferably Trader Joe’s or Costco! I love both). Regarding faux florals.. Home Depot, Walmart, Homegoods, and Wayfair all have awesome faux florals! Hope this helps. – Kristy

Hi Kristine! This bed is from RH Baby and Child and it’s the Marceline with low footboard. I’m not sure they still carry it in the Linen but you can always call to check. It’s a beautiful bed that we’ve had for several years. :)
