Monday Mantel and Pottery Barn Giveaway

Kicking off this beautiful morning with my Monday Mantel and a $25 Pottery Barn Gift Card Giveaway!
I’ve just added a few pumpkins to my mantel for that simple seasonal change.
The lanterns and mirrors from Pottery Barn are classic enough and work well with my Autumn vision so I didn’t feel the need to replace them with anything else.
I love that.
While switching things up a bit I decided that it might be nice to offer a Gift Card to my amazing followers and readers to help get you get started with your decorating…
The nice thing about Fall is that it incorporates 2 holidays so that should give you plenty of time and decor to shop for.  :)

I love it when a mantel is the main focal point of a room.
I think when this is the case you need to decide what kind of impression you’d like to make.
My fireplace is centered smack dab in the middle of my family room and seen from all vantage points.
It’s because of this and because I adore all things symmetrical that I’ve kept the decor clean and classic.
While I love things off center or eclectic in certain spaces, I feel that my family room really embraces the symmetry of my mantel and the simple decor chosen.
It allows me the room to introduce other items in the space without appearing too busy or cluttered.
I love the small square mirrors from Pottery Barn that I’ve chosen to place above the mantel.
By grouping the smaller mirrors in a row of 3, the small space above the fireplace is perfectly filled and is far more interesting than if it was replaced by a single large mirror.
You know you’ve chosen a great decor piece when you gain added interest and texture along with a reflection of light in a space.  :)
As for the lanterns, I’ve always been a fan.
Right now I have them filled with battery charged flameless candles that turn on and off automatically each evening.
Love the pretty flickering candles and in the darker winter months they are so welcoming giving the room that much needed warm and cosy look.

  18. Beautiful mix of textures! Would love to see some suggestions for decorating a mantle that has a tv above it instead of your pretty mirrors (that was a battle I didn’t win!).

    1. My sister has that very same thing. We added 2 slightly narrow (at the bottom because her mantel is narrow) but tall lanterns that go out more as it gets taller with added dried pieces at the bottom and candles within. She changes the colors of the dried accents for each season and it’s really fun to making it interesting. At XMAS she fills the entire thing with colorful ornaments and in the fall acorns and candles. The summer gets a mix of shells with white candles and well… you get the drift. Her Lanterns are really large and also from Pottery Barn. You can make it work if you try. :) Hugs GF and Good Luck! xoxo

  31. Oh! That fireplace! Beautiful. I love that beautiful paint color, too. My husband and I are building our first home and I think that paint color might make the cut for our color scheme. It is just fantastic.

    1. Thanks Caroline! Give it a try but make sure to test it as this is a tricky one. I also took their Silver Sage light and cut it in half with their Right White. That makes it a little bluer.
