Kristy’s Friday Favorites

Happy Weekend everyone!  So excited to share with you a new addition to my blog; Friday Favorites.
Each Friday I will feature a collection of some of my favorite things. It may be a recipe, a dress, or even someone’s home. Friday’s are my favorite day of the week, so why not kick off the weekend with beauty found all around?!

Favorite: Flowers in the Sink

via ~ Rachel Parcell

It seems as if everyday I peek at Instagram I find an amazing photograph…a collection of the most gorgeous flowers you can imagine draping over a farmhouse sink. It doesn’t matter what kind of flower, what color sink, because I’m going to love it no matter what. You see.. I’m obsessed with flowers and kitchens and when the two intertwine… it’s a glorious moment. The classic “Flowers in the Sink” photo makes me happy no matter what.

Favorite Gifts Under $50

I’m always looking for last minute gifts whether they for friends or myself. $50 is usually the maximum amount I give myself and with sales you can find so many great gifts on sale in that price range. I pulled together some of my favorite items of the week that are good enough to either give.. or keep. ;)

Favorite Destination: Greece

I lived in Greece for a few years when I was young and as a result… it holds a special place in my heart. You can imagine how excited to be heading there in September with my husband and good friends from England. With the contrasting colors of the white architecture and blue seas, it’s hard to not fall in love with this amazing place. My most favorite memories of my times spent in Greece involve dancing with my college friends at 2am and skinny dipping in the Aegean Sea under the starry skies…

Favorite Read

My favorite read has to go to my girlfriend, Courtney, who has a new book coming in just one week. ‘Pizzazzarie: Entertain in Style: Tablescapes and Recipes for the Modern Hostess’ is available for preorder now and is available for immediate purchase on August 8. Courtney embodies everything I want to be and more in this beautiful book. I have been following Courtney and her exquisite style for the last 3 years (the entire time I have been active on Instagram).  I was drawn to her attention-to-detail and incredible party planning… along with her yummy recipes. Her new book has so many creative ideas from a Frozen Mint Julep Punch recipe to creating a Charleston Garden Party. It makes me want to plan a party and have Jeff execute each and every recipe in this book while I attempt to decorate, Pizzazzarie-Style. ;) If you would like to pre-order the book, click here.

Favorite Rugs

When I begin designing a space, I always start with a rug. Rugs can add that important splash of color, ground every space and incorporate a fun design that ultimately makes every room feel special. I have usually found many of the rugs that I have used in my homes either on sale or by chance. One of my current favorites is a white and gray wool piece  in my master bedroom. It’s quiet and subtle design helps pull everything together giving my bedroom that classic and elegant look I love.

  1. Hi Kristy! Love this post!
I have been trying to figure out a great gift for friends that are having us to their Lake Tahoe retreat in a couple of weeks that I can take on the airplane. They have everything, but you gave me a perfect idea! I ordered the Cut Flowers book and Gardens at First Light! Thanks for being my daily inspiration Kristy!
