California Designer Barbara Barry

A few years ago I was fortunate enough to meet Interior Designer Barbara Barry at an event held in San Francisco.
She’s one of my favorite designers whose style I love and admire.
Described as a ‘California style designer’ she is best known for blending elegance along with livability.
Her styles are international, sophisticated and beautiful.

Barbara and I are in sync when it comes to our views on both living and decorating –
“I live for beauty and I think everybody needs it… It’s healing, restorative and essential to our well-being.”
~I couldn’t agree more.
 
“I am so blessed to work in California, where the light is constant and clear,” Barbara says. “Light is probably the thing that inspires me most. It seems imbued with energy and magic. It brings things alive and can render the mundane sublime.”
~Exactly why I love living in California…

Imagine my excitement when I found something from Barbara at Homegoods the other day.
The moment I walked into the store my eyes immediately gravitated toward the pillow aisle (my favorite section) and two beautiful silk pillows that stood out amidst all of the others…

I knew from across the store that they were the perfect color and style of my dining room.
The fact that there were only 2 was just incredible luck!
(my lucky day…)

 

Having found these pillows only inspires me to look for more Barbara Barry home decor.
Her designs reflect the look I’m crazy about… classically beautiful while taking it’s lead from nature.
Barbara ~ “My highest inspiration comes from nature; it influences all that I do. The understatement of an all-green garden, the simplicity of fresh-cut flowers and the composition of a spiraling shell show me that less is more.”
