Happy Wednesday friends,
I just received a new bar cart from Society Social and I’m in love! My new bar cart has been such a fun addition to my home. It’s the perfect piece for entertaining with my family and friends and it’s something that I have always wanted. From brunch to cocktails it’s easy to use, flexible and so functional. My new cart has wheels which makes it even more special… and nostalgic for me.
It takes me back to my flight attendant days and working on the cart again. :)
It takes me back to my flight attendant days and working on the cart again. :)
This week I dressed my bar cart in blush and white for a special little get
together with my girlfriends and it looked so cute I wanted to share it with all of you.
In case you have missed my recent Instagram Stories, my bar cart sits in my living room. I can’t believe how perfect it looks in the space. The minute I saw this bar cart, I knew it was the one. I have always loved the chinoiserie influence and the rattan frame added the perfect texture and style that my home craved.
The biggest decision that I had to make when choosing the bar cart was whether I wanted it to be silver or white. I knew it needed to be classic and timeless in style and both colors worked well in my living room. Ultimately white won. No surprise to many of you I’m sure.
Having a white bar cart allows me so many great design options. I have the opportunity to display any color scheme that I like and all materials and accessories look incredible against it’s clean backdrop.
The white bar cart is flexible enough to use in the dining room, kitchen, family room and even my garden. With all of my interior walls painted white, my bar cart blends beautifully with each space without appearing too busy and I love that.
My approach to styling my bar cart doesn’t vary much. I love carts that are elegant and dressy so I always follow a few simple rules. I like to have fresh flowers in a pretty vase and I like to keep the overall color scheme down to one or two colors. You will always find yummy nibbles and drink options as well as a seasonal item or two.
Flowers make every setting more beautiful. Today I combined fresh white hydrangeas and pale pink tulips in a simple arrangement. I was so excited and surprised to find tulips this late in the year… They are one of my favorites.
To keep everything on my cart looking sophisticated and light I went with special glassware in both looks and design. I love crystal and what better way to feature it than on my barcart? The Waterford decanter and high-ball glasses look so pretty on the bottom shelf of the cart. Along with platinum rimmed wine glasses hanging upside down and confetti decorated martini glasses sitting up top, the glass pieces really shine.

I was so excited to find a glass cake stand trimmed with tiny gold and silver detail on the edges. It was perfect for the vanilla cake I am featuring today. The best part of decorating today’s cart? I found the beautiful decanter at Homegoods for a steal. You don’t have to spend a fortune to elevate your bar cart!
When it comes to accessorizing my cart a bit more, I like to layer specialty books or a tray underneath items to give them a little more height and attention. I also find draping a garland (like my GATHER garland below) or weaving little lights around the top of the cart add just the right amount extra detail. Wait til Christmas!
Place polka dotted straws in a glass and make sure to include matching cocktail napkins, plates and a few other seasonal/celebratory accessories and your bar cart is complete!
So fun sharing how I styled my blush and white bar cart with you today. With so many special occasions in the near future I can’t wait to show you other ways I plan to style this baby. If you are considering getting a bar cart, you really should! It’s one of those pieces that you will wonder how you ever lived without..
Who knew a little cart with wheels could make me this happy again? ;)
xx

I like the cart. I have a bar cart, but it doesn’t have the spot to hang the glasses upside down, and I wish it did. But otherwise it is nice. Is there anywhere on your site where you have a mini autobiography? Sometimes you refer to earlier parts of your life, like being a flight attendant or living in Greece, and I didn’t realize you had that wxperience.
Oh I love this bar cart Kristy. I have been looking for one for some time and this one is perfect and would go well with my decor. I love how you decorated it as well. So pretty!

Kristy,
The cart looks fantastic. I wasn’t sure of the rattan at first but now that it is styled it looks amazing. So classy and chic with the blush and crystal.
