I’m someone who loves homes with neighborhood curb appeal… Walking the neighborhoods where I live I’m reminded that you can find just about every style and size home and garden here. Typical for California. In the Bay area with the Silicon Valley tech boom reaching most everyone you certainly notice signs of money everywhere but what you won’t find is an abundance of land. As a result… many homes sit on top of one another. Finding 2+ million dollar homes squeezed onto 6,000 sq ft lots is more common than I’d like to admit. You can never judge a book by it’s cover as they say. ;)
Size doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to a few of my favorite homes. Oftentimes the homes I favor have smaller front yards and gardens with carefully planning and care given to their appearance. So many things stop me in my tracks while walking. I can’t help but adore picket fences covered with climbing roses or stone walls and urns stuffed full with flowers spilling overtop. Window boxes and front porches make me melt. Little touches like richly painted shutters and a beautiful door with interesting hardware or courtyards with flowers. I love flagstone steps with grass or baby tears planted in between and boxwood… LOTS of boxwood.
I’m a bit of a lover of ALL style gardens as long as they include pretty plantings and maybe just a detail or two that show that the owner really cares about their garden. Homes come alive when we give them personality afterall.
Below I’ve included a few homes from my neighborhood and online that have grabbed my attention today. Favorite homes and gardens are something I could feature every other day they make me that happy… :)
Enjoy!

Absolutely stunning, especially that little cottage in the last photo. Just shows how important curb appeal is!
Thanks so much Deb. I loved that one too. :) Have a beautiful Wednesday! xo
