Window Shades with Wendy Bellissimo and Smith & Noble

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I’m so thrilled to finally share details of my beautiful window treatments from the Wendy Bellissimo Home Collection at Smith & Noble with all of you today. I loved partnering with these two powerhouses on something as important as window coverings. We’ve just finished installing everything and I can’t tell you how excited and happy we are with our windows! Before Jeff and I moved into our new home we made a concerted effort not to purchase any window treatments. While it was a bit of a pain ducking past the windows in my robe, I wanted to wait until we were really living in the house to see what we needed in terms of privacy, lighting protection, etc.  It didn’t take us long to discover that we needed window treatments on every window. We live on a busy street where everyone walks past and all the homes sit in close proximity to one another.  If that’s not enough, we have so much sunlight streaming in our home we knew we needed window coverings of some sort before the summer heat set in.
.
As luck would have it Wendy Bellissimo approached me about dressing my windows just as my search began.  I was already familiar with Wendy’s style through Instagram (Love all!) and knew instantly that I wanted to collaborate with she and Smith & Noble on this project. Her fabrics are beautiful and I just knew that Wendy’s designs mixed with Smith & Noble’s quality would be the perfect match for my home.

Keeping in mind my love for white interiors Wendy pulled together a few samples for me from her Natural Woven line as well as her new Soft Top Linen Drapery line.  I loved the idea of seeing the samples in my home.  Comparing the different fabrics was key.  I was able to look at the textures combined and as a result we decided to add a little of both in the family room as well as my daughter’s bedroom/guest room.  Once the fabrics and styles were chosen I made sure to add the motorization feature to all the shades.  Many of the windows in my home aren’t reachable so this aspect was very important.  Now whenever I want to raise and lower my shades I simply use a tiny remote in each room. We don’t know how we ever lived without this incredibly handy invention.
We are in love with everything and I can’t thank Wendy and Smith & Noble enough for partnering with me on this project. From the layered linen drapery to the motorized natural woven shades…
I now have the elegant stylish home that I have always dreamed of.

      1. Did I hear you say in one of your stories that your shades automatically retract and close at certain programmed times? I’m looking for shades that are hard wired- no batteries, as they are on second story windows in our open living room. Could you share the resource for these, if so? Are these Smith and noble also? Thank you!

  1. Hi Kristy,
I am one of your long time followers from Montreal Canada. I absolutely love the way you have styled your beautiful home.
I have a quick question for you – would you be able to let me know what fabric you chose for the shades in your downstairs area? Also, are they roller or Roman shades? I have seen your blog on the upstairs blinds but haven’t seen the new ones you installed last summer downstairs. I am purchasing a blind for my downstairs area and would love to find one similar to yours.
    Thanks for your help!
    Kind regards,
    Ola
