Happy weekend everyone! I love bringing a cozy feel to my winter bedrooms.. with guests coming in & out over the next couple of months, I want everyone to feel as if they are being spoiled by bringing little touches of velvets, fluffy rugs, and new bedding to their guest suite. Along with the added texture, I like to introduce twinkle lights, and whimsical touches of holiday decor. For my new cozy guest bedroom, I decided to stay with a more neutral color palette of whites, creams, blacks, and champagnes. All of the room sources and links will be at the bottom of this post.
I was inspired to change redo my guest bedroom after seeing the most beautiful bedding. I partnered with Lexington Company for their gorgeous pin-striped beige and white duvet set, and paired that with their luxurious black diamond quilted velvet bedding and shams. Immediately my room felt more regal and elegant by introducing the high-contrasting color of black. I decided to remove all aspects of blush from the room for a fresh change. I love how sophisticated it looks.
To introduce a holiday vibe to the bed, I added Pottery Barn’s new star pillow. I loved this so much, I added another to my bed in the master bedroom. The velvet creamy-white ‘Joy’ pillow is new as well, and I found that Homegoods. I love the two laying against the black velvet. Click here for your own Pottery Barn star pillow, it’s 40% off!
I always like to include a throw blanket of some sort at the end of every bed in my home. The cream flag throw is also from Lexington Company and I love the patriotic touch in a neutral color.
In the far corner, you may notice that I white-washed the top wood section of my iron scroll bedside table. I don’t know why I didn’t do this before. I love the update. Before I white-washed it, the wood grain always bothered me a bit because it the color of the wood didn’t flow with my wood floors as much as I would have liked. Now with the wash, it’s perfect. It’s amazing what a little watered down paint can do.
On all of the table tops in the room, I’ve placed some favorite holiday pieces. The all-white snowglobe is a special piece that I picked up from Homegoods. Emma used to collect them when she was younger, and I knew she would appreciate the sentimental touch. The glitter snowflakes I picked up from a local store on Main Street in my hometown. I love the champagne glitter against the wood of the table. Behind the snowflakes is a little white christmas tree.. so cute.
The wall opposite the bed has taken on a complete transformation. You may remember a tall clawfoot console table sitting where this Restoration Hardware console is now sitting. While I loved the larger console, it took up so much space in the room and I feel that this slightly smaller table fits the wall so much better.
On this wall, I used to have 4 large blush botanicals. Instead, a large white mirror sits in their place. I moved this mirror from the family room, and place it over the console. It’s the perfect size and shape. The light and the flowers look so pretty in the mirror, and it also makes the room seem much larger and brighter.
In the far corner, I’ve placed another one of my favorite twinkle trees. If you’d like to learn more about these and why I love them so much, click here. The skirt at the base of the tree is actually a fluffy fur throw from Cost Plus World Market. I always use a throw instead of a tree skirt because you can use it after the holidays. More practical! The ivory faux fur throw blanket still available to order for yourself, here.
On top of the console, is a bottlebrush tree, ornaments in an old antique silver dish, and another glitter star. The glitter star garland that is draped on the table is from Pottery Barn, and you can order one for yourself here. For a similar bottlebrush tree, click here.
The angel wings are special. I purchased those for Emma years ago from Wisteria. We always refer to Emma as our little angel, as we went through InVetro Fertilization to have her. I’ll be talking more about that in a blog post soon. Unfortunately the angel wings are no longer available for purchase..
The flowers on the wall are from Fanciful Designs Co. These are a special package that Noelle made just for me called “Wicksnest”. You can purchase the exact same package I have, here.

Looks so good!
Question when u paint ur table top or mirror white etc do u use chalk paint or what kind/color?
Do u always water down?
Hi Kristin,
On my side-table I did use watered down paint because I wanted the raw wood to show through a little. I used a wipe on, wipe off method until I liked it. I used my leftover wall paint, which is Benjamin Moore’s ‘Chantilly Lace’ in matte.
Love itttt
Love the room, where did you buy your guest bed?
Thanks Lauren! The bed is from RH Baby and Child believe it or not. It’s the Marceline with the low footboard in a Queen.
