We stayed at The Trafalgar St James London, Curio Collection by Hilton and it was modern and wonderful. Price depends on time of year. Rooftop restaurant with a wide variety of breakfast items

Sky Garden at 20 Fernchurch Street is also worth visiting especially that it’s ‘free’ the only thing is you have to book in advance. I highly recommend visiting it as it offers great views of central London and you can also enjoy a drink at the bar!
Lovely. I’m from the UK although I don’t live there now. Other must sees:
Chelsea – this area is full of little boutiques and gorgeous interiors shops. It’s where the famous Kings Road is. Here you’ll find the Bluebird Cafe and The Ivy Chelsea Garden (one of the most popular restaurants in London and always adorned in flowers)
You must have breakfast and a mimosa at The Wolsley, next door to the Ritz. It’s wonderful and a piece of London history.
Rely on websites like time out London and not necessarily trip advisor for restaurant recommendations.

Just wanted to say that you blog is fantastic and very informative. I live just outside London but spend a lot of time in town. The other thing I would mention on your blog is you can grab the river taxi to the O2 arena to catch a great concert….even maybe stopping off at Greenwich on route which has a gorgeous park, the Royal observatory and planetarium , a lovely little food market and is also home to the Cutty sark, a historical ship that can you board and look round. Also going in the opposite direction on the river you can visit the HMS Belfast which is an old warship then take a walk along the well know south bank with street entertainers and food stalls. I would also defo mention eating at Sushi Samba on the 38th floor of the Heron tower in the City of London area…food is amazing! Wishing anyone that visits London a fab time! X

I like to try and visit once a year, even if it’s for the day (travel by train). One of my most memorable is visiting Buckingham Palace for the State Room tours. They only open them for about 10 weeks of the year and you must pre-book tickets. You can also visit Kensington Palace, home of William and Kate!
Like you mentioned, you can not go to London without partaking in Afternoon Tea, one of my favourites was at The Langham.
I’m going in March just for the day and I can’t wait!

Premier Inns are really good cheap places to stay. There’s lots in London and around the UK. They are always clean and super comfy beds!
