Oh September.. you’ve been a busy month. It feels like the month has flown by because of all the projects we’ve taken on.. and our daily routine has been a bit chaotic. Have you felt this way too? Please say yes so I don’t feel alone! ;)

If that’s not enough.. Fall has hit us in the face and I’m trying to decorate like a madwoman. I know it’s not normal to feel “behind” in Fall decorating when it’s only mid-September, but in blogger land we tend to tackle the seasons at a different time and pace than the average person.

Hi everyone!

I love this time of year with the cooler temperatures and shorter days. It’s a time when families watch movies together and dine together. It is the perfect backdrop for candlelight and warm fires.

Year round my approach toward entertaining is usually pretty simple, I love keeping things elegant but without all the fuss. During the fall and winter months however, I find myself jumping into the ‘decorating mode’.

Happy fall everyone..
I’m finally just accepting the fact that it’s September.. help!  Not quite sure I’m ready to let go of summer just yet…

Plaid is everywhere…  It’s always been a standout design I’ve favored during the Autumn and holiday seasons but this year it’s seen on everything from shoes to lampshades.  This classic style looks fresh and new in the many ways it’s presented and it makes me so happy.  It’s the little things as they say.

I love mixing designs and plaids are a great addition to florals, paisley and even the cleaner lined fret.

It’s been such a busy week in our home with our little guy, Cal not feeling well and trying to jump into the Autumn decorating season with temperatures hovering around 100 degrees in the San Francisco Bay area.
I don’t usually begin decorating for the Fall season until October 1st but with my new blogging venture and the incredible exposure I now have to so many creative Interior Designers jumping into the season ‘full throttle’ …
