Hi everyone. We’ve finally wrapped up our mini-kitchen renovation and I can’t believe these before and after pictures! Those of you who have been following our kitchen renovation journey may feel like I do. Everything happened in stages and now looking back at everything.. the ‘before’ is unrecognizable – I can hardly believe how far we have come in so little time. We just moved in last August and during that time period we’ve not only worked on the kitchen and living room but the exterior as well!

One of the most affordable and impactful steps in this renovation has been installing smart switches. Lighting sets the mood for everything from dinner parties, cozy nights in, great photos, cleaning… you name it, the right light can make such a difference. We ordered the Caséta by Lutron switches and once we used them for a week we ordered more for the rest of the house because we liked them so much.

This house is new to us, but it’s 70 years old.

Everyone knows one of the best things about Southern California is the weather, being able to enjoy the outdoors year round is such a treat and our new home has so much space to do so! Those of you who have been following along with us for some time know that when we left Pleasanton we had to leave our dear friend Serafin, who helped us with our yard for years. Serafin executed my garden vision to a ‘T.’ Now that we are on our own Jeff has volunteered to help, but he has some big shoes to fill.

So.. what do you think about this before & after of our deck!? I’m happy to announce that our deck’s transformation is finally complete! SO happy with the way everything turned out.. this custom stain pulled together by my painter, Abraham is absolutely perfect. It compliments the white paint on both the house and handrail in the most perfect way! Finally – the before and after of my new kitchen cabinet hardware…I am so excited to share this with all of you! I’ve always thought of hardware as the jewelry of my home.
