Our Beautiful New Laundry Room

I’m thrilled to finally be able to share our beautiful new laundry room with all of you!  We’ve been waiting for our amazing cabinet maker, George to install the last bit of cabinets and I’m happy to announce that as of last week everything is complete and gorgeous.  This tiny space was an undertaking simply because it serves as our laundry room and the entrance to the house and powder room as well. (affiliate links used in this post) To elevate the space a bit more we even added a wine chiller for Jeff.

To make this room look and feel as large as possible we decided to forego the normal sized washer/dryer units and instead settled on the smaller 24″ machines.  Jeff and I barely filled our previous machines once Emma left for college anyways… It’s amazing how much more space we gained by making the move to the smaller units.

We decided to have George build a cabinet surround and drawer for the stackable washer/dryer units to rest on… This gave us extra storage above and below and kept the space looking custom, finished and clean.  Best part, the panel surrounding the machines is removable for service options.  Love that!

It was important to find a spot for Jeff’s new wine chiller and stacking our machines allowed us the opportunity to place the chiller where the washer used to sit.  I love that our laundry room also serves as a wine room.
Doing the laundry is so much more fun with wine in hand.

Wine Chiller

This space sits adjacent to my kitchen and it hosts the entrance to my powder room as well as the door entering from the garage so it was important for me that it not look utilitarian… rather I wanted it to look organized, clean and elegant.

By including a special light from Lamps Plus and a few select home decor pieces I feel I’ve made this little room blend beautifully with the rest of the house. Everyone mentions how much they love this tiny space and I have to admit that now it’s one of my favorite rooms.

Silver Tray

Crown molding and marble countertops are just a few of the details that complete the look. I feel it’s the attention to detail that can take any small ordinary space to another level.
Thanks so much for checking out our sweet new laundry room and remember… Every room can become a special place.
Even with dirty laundry. ;)

  1. I was so happy to see you posted about this room. It is very chic and goes beautifully with your house. I am now looking forward to the garden posts. It’s been fun to watch on Instagram.

  2. Loved the idea of the wine chiller & soda stream in the laundry room! Stealing your idea for my home that we are building in Ventura county. Just my husband & I at home now, but with grandkids coming along, not sure I can do a small washer/dryer. But I Love the look of yours! Great job & blog!

  3. So much functionality and beauty/style at once! Where did you find the silver tray that hangs on the wall? It’s a nice added sparkle.

  4. Hi Kristy!
I see that you have that silver plate hanging on the wall, I recently purchased some large silver plates like that that are curved, with more of a concave look. We can’t figure out how to get them on the wall, how did you guys install that plate? what did you use to hang it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  5. Hi, Kristy!

I love, love, love everything about hour home. I ALWAYS look forward to waking up in the morning and looking forward to your Instagram stories and posts. Did you paint your beautiful peacock dish, and if so, what paint did you use?

    Kisses to Maggie!

    1. Thank you so much!! I did paint the peacock and I used leftover wall paint and another color or two and simply swiped it on and off until I liked the look. ;)

  6. Love that even in a space that you do your laundry in, you did it in your own style. Pretty and functional. Love the peacock and tray.

    1. Thank you Wendy… Those are two of my favorite pieces. This space is now one I look forward to entering… that’s saying alot since it IS a laundry room. LOL ;)

  7. Love that it’s so beautiful but functional as well. Y’all did a great job blending the two!

  8. Well that’s definitely the most chic and elegant laundry room i’ve seen in a loooong time! You have a magic touch Kristy! x

  9. I’ve just discovered you through Jillian Harris’ Instragram Stories……your home is beautiful!! I’ve always gone the dark route in my house and for the first time I told my husband that I want to change everything white …….he of course, rolled his eyes!! I can’t wait to start, you have really inspired me!! Thank you so much!!!

  10. i love your entire home.
Are the pictures links? I want to order the peacock but, when I click on the picture it takes me to Pinterest.
    Thanks,
    Missy

  11. You sure do have a knack for putting things together. I luv EVERYTHING that you have done in your home and always look forward to seeing more. Well, done!

  12. Hi Kristy, one of my favorite things you do in your space is you not only add texture but pops of color which really makes your house a home… so many designers are doing such a great job but tend to do everything match matchy. I realize you love white but your not afraid to use other colors that blend perfectly with your home!!! ✨✨✨✨ love this space!!! Alicia xo

    1. Thanks so much Alicia! That’s so sweet of you to say… I do love white but mostly because it’s a clean canvas for everything else to shine. :) Hugs!
