  1. I have decided to add more coastal peices to our home because it reminds me of my vacations to Maui. I like your bleached starfish, so I got a few from the shops on the oregon coast :)

    1. Thanks so much Alicia! So excited you found some of the starfish in Oregon. I have them everywhere and love their classic style. Thanks for leaving a message… :) Hugs and Happy Tuesday! xo

  3. I love how you incorporate wonderful pops of color in your home, I have always played it safe with neutrals throughout my home but you have inspired me to add a little more fun with color. Seeing more color in my own home has brought a little more joy to my life!

    1. Thanks Rachel! I love simple and white believe it or not :) but I think that the pops from flowers and the colors of nature added here and there make it that much more beautiful. You are so sweet to comment. Hugs and Happy Tuesday! xo

    1. Yay Jennifer! So happy to have you as a new friend and follower. You’re adorable and I am loving all your amazing ideas. Thanks for being so inspiring! Have a great Tuesday… Hugs! xoxo

  4. I’m new to your blog but I love the decor you’ve pictures so far! Loads of ideas! Thanks for the giveaway. That us a pleasant surprise. This pillow fits right in with my guest room decor! Amazing -i never find the mix of colors together anywhere!

    1. Thanks Christy! Great name! ;) You are so sweet. I really just want people to know how many adorable affordable pieces there are out there that are really beautiful and easy to find. I’m a new Blogger… so any interaction with my readers makes me really happy. Hugs and Have a great Tuesday! Thanks again for commenting. xo

  5. Love your home. Am new to following you. Your style inspired me to redo my back porch and patio in your colors. Love the way it looks now!!

    1. Yay Debbie! So happy! I’d love to see pics. :) Thanks so much for commenting! Hugs and have a great night… xoxo

  6. I’m new to following your blog thanks to last week’s home tour. I love the colors you use in your home. I’ve used similar colors in our master bedroom. I was inspired by your post about your foyer. I’ve allowed our foyer to get out of hand with toys (which has not been a problem for functionality because most of our guests come in through our garage rather than the front door). However, your post inspired me to get that space back into a more welcoming state. Thanks!

    1. Wow Heather that is great and so sweet of you to say. I remember when Emma was little and I had toys everywhere as well. Everyone goes through that phase when they have kids and believe me when I say ‘everyone understands’! I’d love to see what you do and how you organize the space. You’ll be soooo happy to make it yours again. ;) Hugs and thank you so much for making my night! :)

  7. Love your blog.. I follow you on instragam and was super excited when you started to blog! My blogs inspire me… Not to many of my good girlfriends are into the same passion as me…. Decorating! I have to have my once a week Home Goods fix! After I sit down with my favorite cup of coffee and reading blogs… It inspires me to change something in my home for the day! Thanks for entering me in the giveaway!

    1. I love that you have a system, Renee! I start my mornings almost the same but I think I need to make more time for ME and actually ‘drink my coffee’ and ‘read my friend’s Blogs’ before I start moving everything around, gardening, doing chores and forgetting about myself! ;) Thanks for inspiring me to get it together so I can be more together for all of you! xoxo

  8. I found your blog via House of Turquoise and I am enchanted!

You share my love of blues and greens… so I am getting a lot of inspiration from YOU right now. Back to reading. ;)

    1. Thank you so much Karen! You’re so sweet and I really am flattered. I live for the beach, grassy fields, summer nights and well… just being outdoors in general. Keeping that in mind I try to lighten the mood of my home as much as I can with my color choices and by adding textures of real items like shells and rustic distressed pieces… It feels so much more ‘real’ and alive because of that! ;) I love House of Turquoise also and it always makes me happy every day I take a peek at it. Thanks so much again for commenting! Hugs xoxo

    1. Thanks kelly! I’m going to take a look at your site as well. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! Looks like you and I love all things coastal! ;) Hugs and have a great night! xo

  9. Hello there! Stumbled upon your blog yesterday and I love it! Love your style. I used to work in Concord and lived in Healdsburg. Now we reside in “hot” AZ, but love going back to visit family in Nor Cal. I miss how green everything is. Thanks for the inspiration to continue changing things up in my own home from boring “safe” colors and having fun with color. After looking at your blog yesterday I had to run to Home Goods. It was a happy shopping day! Thank you!

    1. Haha Love it Karen! Isn’t that place amazing?? I swear there are hours that just disappear there. ;) My daughter is at ASU and my brother-in-law also lives there so we are very familiar with the heat. My cool colors are perfect for lightening the stuffy hot feeling of Arizona! You’ll have to let me know what you do… Thanks so much for taking the time to read my Blog. It’s so fun! Hugs! xo

      1. Kristy,

My son will start his freshmen year this fall at ASU. Small world! We will soon be empty nesters. :( I work for a broker dealer now, but when I lived in CA I was in retail management. Been blogging since 2005 when I was really into scrapbooking. Don’t scrapbook anymore, but want to keep my blog going. It’s a great way to look back on what you have done. Look forward to reading more about your décor and being inspired.

        Karen :)

  10. Kristy, you have a CHARMING home! When I first saw images of your house on the blog houseofturquoise, I thought you were by the ocean. It has that refreshing “by the sea” look to it, then I read you are practically my neighbor – I’m just a few towns away in Orinda. Love your blog.

    1. Aww, thanks so much Lisa! I WISH I lived near the beach. How amazing would THAT be? ;) I’ll take a beach house any day! Thanks so much for your sweet comments! Hugs from Ptown! ;) xo

  11. I just found your site last night, linked from House of Turquoise. I was so excited to see a home featured there from the East Bay! I am in Clayton, and was so happy to see a local:)

You have a beautiful sense of style and shop at all my favorite stores. Thanks for posting the link to paint colors as well. I think a trip to RH is in my near future!

    1. Thanks Shannon! So honored to be highlighted in House of Turquoise! :)

There are so many paints our there so let me know what you end up loving. I answered a little more about the paint in Mary’s comment below which may explain why I used the colors where I did, etc. I may try something diff in another year or 2… never say never! ;)

Thanks so much for your comments and Happy Wednesday! Hugs! xo

  12. Absolutely love your house, Kristy, and am so so impressed with how beautifully put together everything is. We’ve got a toddler and a moose of a bulldog, so I’m afraid my house typically looks like a tornado hit 5 minutes previous, but you inspire me to make small changes and beautify as I can! :)

    1. Haha this made me laugh Brittany! So funny and I can totally relate as my sister has 2 boys who are 18 months apart in a 1900 sq ft house!
She tells me she is constantly picking everything up. ;)
Don’t let me fool you … now that my daughter is off at college I have wayyy too much time and the house is boringly clean. ;)
I love it when my gf’s come over to watch our weekly Bachelor viewing just so it gets messy!
YOU have the life! Hugs! xoxo :)

  13. I am not a decorator at all. I started following your Instagram and now I’m obsessed with adding small things around my house to live it up a little. This last week I went to homegoods for the first time in over a year and bought a green outdoor stand/vase (inspired by your blue one with the lantern on top) and added so far just one pillow and it’s already looking so much better! It still needs more but just a pop of color really helps! Thank you ;)

    1. Haha! I love it! That place is seriously the most crazily fun place to shop where hours just slip away… ;) Thanks so much for your comment and Happy Friday! xoxo

    1. That’s great Shari! So excited you love it! I’m so much happier when everything is light. Really makes a difference in my days! Hugs and Happy Monday! xoxo
